At V’s Performance, we love projects that allow us to bring together the right combination of craftsmanship, performance, and attention to detail. This recent build was a perfect example.

A customer brought us a Superformance MKIII rolling chassis to handle the installation of the complete powertrain and get the car ready to hit the road.

Building From a Rolling Chassis

Starting with a Superformance MKIII rolling chassis gives us an incredible foundation for a performance build. From there, our job was to complete the installation and turn the rolling chassis into a fully functioning performance car.

For this project, we installed a 427 Ford Windsor engine along with the transmission, carefully integrating the drivetrain into the MKIII.

This isn't simply a matter of dropping an engine into the car. A proper installation requires attention to the entire combination and making sure the engine, transmission, supporting systems, and vehicle work together as intended.

427 Ford Windsor Power

At the heart of this build is a 427 Ford Windsor, giving the MKIII the performance-oriented powerplant this car deserves.

Our team handled the complete engine and transmission installation, making sure everything was properly installed and ready for final testing.

Once the installation was completed, it was time to move the car to the chassis dyno.

Chassis Dyno Testing & Tuning

The final stage of the project was getting the MKIII properly tested and dialed in on the chassis dyno.

Dyno testing allowed us to evaluate the completed combination under controlled conditions and make the necessary tuning adjustments.

We worked through the final tuning and testing to make sure the engine was performing properly and the vehicle was ready to be driven.

After completing the dyno work, the result was exactly what we wanted:

A Superformance MKIII with a 427 Windsor, properly installed, tested, tuned, and ready to enjoy.

From Rolling Chassis to Road-Ready

This project is a great example of what V’s Performance does best.
